John Harvard, the founder of Harvard University in the US – the oldest university in the country, was a graduate of Cambridge.
The Cambridge university’s academic year is divided into 3 terms of about 8 weeks each. The terms, that are known in other universities as semester, are named Michaelmas (autumn – October to December), Lent (late winter – January to March) and Easter (spring – April to June).
